One of the great things about this project was some of the wonderful people I got to work, hang out and ride in limos with... Without wanting to state the obvious I am eternally in these people’s debt for the time, energy and inspiration they put into the gig.
Georgina Frye – Georgina is always totally a buzz to work with – combining a no nonsense work ethic with a great sense of fun and artistry – her work on all the logistic details of the show – from making costumes, to shooting footage, to organising stuff, to keeping me in line... Nothing would have happened like it did without her.
Sumu Sivanesan – Sumu Spent lots of time on his own and with Georgina editing and working on the D.S Video component. Cool under fire at all times, boundlessly creative and one of my dearest freinds and drinking buddies. Come back Sumu – I miss you!!!
Alex – ah, beautiful Alex, now lost to us to the splendour of the north coast of N.S.W.
Nikki – Nicki, if anything, could really be called the Penultimate and role model for the dirty girls – wild and zany, with an instant hard as fuck demeanour on tap – unbreakable attitude – the ultimate dirty girl.
Claire – Long suffering Claire, originally just doing it to help out, became one of the stalwarts of the team – later appearances of ‘Evil Claire’ were hysterical.
Cath – One of Michaela’s friends willingly roped into the jam who paid the noble sacrifice of cutting open her face at the space 3 gig. Trooper.
Celia – A face behind the scenes, Celia put together most of the choreography for the later shows. She also inspired the crew to greater confidence and guided the development of the Dirty girl act.
Katie – A long time buddy and some-one who I had worked with, again, quite a bit before this show, Katie had those butt wriggling moves down pat – Bad-ass!!
Charlie – Another ‘natural’ Dirty girl who took to the thing like a fish to water. Inspiring.
Shreebee - What a spunk - instant dirty girl icon and hard drinking inspiration - you rock!
Helena - Can anyone be this spunky and do such great things with her life as well?
Kate – This time a Flatmate roped into the gig at the last minute – sweet little Kate proved to be a formidable force in Fishnets and hotpants on the night. Ahh, Kate in those hotpants.
Michaela - Was one of the first and more vigorous exponents of the whole dirty girl thing – her early enthusiasm for the cause on was inspiring.
Jasmine – Yeah she was there and was good early on, but then took on way too much, and stressed the hell out of herself and everyone else around her. A shame coz her works itself was great. Disclaimer
Ben Andrews - Ben, from bug records, was an invaluable behind the scenes aid, many of the photos of the shows were his, and all the tricky timing and co-ordination stuff... his work.
John Maverty – A small but important role – John shot lots of video of the Newcastle gig – culminating in an SBS promo that still airs nationally from time to time of the D.S crew stepping out of a lift and brandishing that stupid Blue logo.
Nicole Belle – Helped with Video on the Uber Random gig – big shout out.
